Terms of Play
The practical rules and expectations for sessions, payments, behaviour, and everything in between.
Welcome
These Terms of Play apply to all children, parents, and guardians taking part in Academic Football sessions, leagues, and programmes. By registering or attending, you agree to these terms.
Our goal is simple: every child has fun, feels included, and goes home smiling. These rules help us keep it that way.
Who Can Take Part
Our programmes are designed for children aged 4–11. Age groups are listed on each programme page. We reserve the right to place a child in the most appropriate group based on ability and maturity, in consultation with parents.
All children must be signed in and out by a parent or authorised adult at every session.
Behaviour & Conduct
We expect everyone — children, parents, and staff — to:
- Treat others with respect, kindness, and fairness
- Follow coach instructions and session rules
- Use positive language on and off the pitch
- Never engage in bullying, discrimination, or aggressive behaviour
What to Bring
Children should wear comfortable sports clothing and trainers or football boots suitable for the surface. We provide bibs and equipment.
Please bring a water bottle to every session. Sun cream and weather-appropriate clothing are the parent's responsibility.
Please inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or additional needs at the time of registration.
Fees & Payments
Programme fees are listed on our website and confirmed at registration. Fees are payable in advance unless otherwise agreed.
We do not offer refunds for missed sessions due to illness, holidays, or personal circumstances, but we will always try to accommodate rescheduling where possible.
We reserve the right to update fees with reasonable notice.
Cancellations & Weather
If we need to cancel a session due to weather, venue unavailability, or staff illness, we will notify you as early as possible via WhatsApp and offer a credit or alternative session where feasible.
If you need to cancel your child's place, please give us at least two weeks' notice in writing.
Photography & Media
We may photograph or film sessions for promotional use. We will always seek your consent before publishing any image that identifies your child by name.
Parents and spectators must not photograph or film other people's children without the permission of their parent or guardian.
Liability
Academic Football takes all reasonable steps to ensure sessions are safe and well supervised. However, football is a physical activity and minor injuries can occur.
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring their child is physically fit to participate. By attending, you accept that participation is at your own risk to the extent permitted by law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Play from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
